There allegedly is a software 'counter' that monitors the head cleaning operations and 'ticks' up/down a counter which when zero stops the printer working altogether. It is a fantastic low usage printer.ħ) Following a week of trawling the web, I am led to believe this is a forced obsolescence built into the printer (saved in EPROM) by the manufacturer.
